show me your true colors, Envy

I tried to find out something special that could symbolize Envy, but in the end I thought that Envy is a feeling, a state of mind, more than anything. So I tried to point up its unhappy behavior.
Envy can look you in the face smiling, shakes your hand or hugs you. As anybody else. And could be concealed in the eyes of your friends or even of your kin. But if you look carefully you could feel it, that aftertaste, like something that's not truly genuine.

For plants and spider: plants are something we are really accustomed to, and spider is something hidden and frightening. Envy is so hidden that even if you could look under its skin you'll see nothing strange. But something really is there!
